Thank you to those of you who participated in our ThoughtExchange on Cultivating A Growth Mindset & High Expectations For All Students. We asked participants to share ways in which their student(s) benefitted from High Expectations and the cultivation of a Growth Mindset. Our Naperville 203 leadership team has reviewed the thoughts, and understands that members of our community feel:
- The cultivation of a Growth Mindset can help students with disabilities be successful in school and beyond
- Class sizes can have an impact on a student's ability to grow
- High expectations can also put added pressure on students
- It is beneficial when teachers specifically teach to a student's strength, and show them how to learn concepts in a way they best understand
- A rigorous curriculum challenges students' thought process and prepares them for college/real world experiences
