  • Aramark Information - 2nd Entree

Aramark is always looking for ways to improve our lunch process and provide a smooth-running service for the students. Some students in upper grades choose to purchase a second lunch entree. Going forward, please know that students with a negative balance on their account will not be able to receive a second entree until the outstanding balance is paid. Maplebrook staff will discreetly notify any students prior to lunch, if they are unable to receive the second entree. Please be sure your account is in good standing. Please view your balance online and/or know that an account statement may be requested at any time by calling 630-420-6599. Please click the headline for a link to more information.

  • GLOW Run Update!

Each week, Keep checking the Spotlights for the latest number. We hve more than quadrupled our number from last week, BUT, we have many schools who are neck and neck with us, so we have to keep passing the word to ensure another Maplebrook victory!!! Remember, not only can you sign up your family to actually run, but you can sign up everyone you know (literally everyone) to be a “Virtual Runner”! What is a virtual runner you ask? That is someone who is helping out by donating to the Jeanine Nicarico Memorial Literacy Fund AND they count for our Maplebrook team! In addition to helping us out, they get a snazzy GLOW run t-shirt and the warm feelings that come when you you do something nice :) Let’s get that number WAY up by the next update! • FunFest Cake & Cupcake Walk

Our annual FunFest wouldn't be the same without our Cake and Cupcake Walk -- one of the students' FAVORITE place to redeem their tickets! Can you help make it a success by donating cakes and cupcakes? Each single-layer frosted cake or six cupcakes brings in about $10 for our school -- what a money maker! Store-bought cakes and cupcakes are also appreciated. Containers will be available for pickup inside the front doors starting Thursday, April 18th. We will be collecting these cakes/cupcakes the morning of the FunFest (May 3rd) at drop off -- you don't even have to get out of your car! Click the headline for a sign-up link.

  • Celebrating our Maplebrook Community

Posted by Karen Buell on 4/19/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

One of the best parts of Maplebrook is when our community comes together.  Yesterday, we brought all of our students together for a quick assembly where we celebrated that “We Are Maplebrook!” while also talking to our students about the GLOW Run.  Certainly it’s not required for you, or your student(s) to participate, but it is for a good cause, and on May 18th, it will be fun to see many members of our community gather and participate in the race.  See the entry below for more details.

    Maplebrook Families,

Annually, the district holds an Awards Night to celebrate staff and community members for their contributions to Naperville School District 203.  Join me in celebrating Maplebrook’s nominees that will be recognized at next week’s program: Renee Abbott, Instructional Assistant; Kerri Gborigi, 3rd Grade Teacher, Lauren Ralph, Learning Behavior Specialist; Jennifer Schemidt, Assistant Principal; and Kelli Stanford, 3rd Grade Teacher.  The contributions of these dedicated professionals to our students and community are invaluable and all are very deserving of this recognition.

  • What a Busy Week!

Posted by Karen Buell on 3/8/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

We’ve had a great week at Maplebrook!  On Tuesday, our band and orchestra students sounded fantastic at their concert.  Many thanks to Dr. Carroll and Ms. Reynolds for their continued work in helping our Wildcat musicians.  We held an amazing STEM Fair last night! All of our participants demonstrated outstanding scientific inquiry and communication skills.  Thanks to all that volunteered and helped make it a great event including Mrs. Bass and our Home & School Chairs, Erin Brignac, Rachna Prasad, and Leah McGrath.  Finally, we wrapped up the week by welcoming our future Wildcats and their families at Kindergarten Preview today. We look forward to seeing them again in the fall!

  • Making Plans for Next School Year

Posted by Karen Buell on 3/1/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

The third trimester has begun and while we stay focused on the current school year, we must also begin making plans for next school year. This includes ordering materials, prioritizing summer improvements to our facility, hiring staff as needed and much, much more.  Believe it or not, our teachers will soon begin the process of class groupings for the 2019-2020 school year. Yesterday, your student came home with this letter which briefly discusses our process.  As mentioned in the letter, I ask that you trust our staff in the creation of balanced classes; however we do want to provide you with an opportunity to provide any information that you feel is pertinent to our process.  One of the most joyous parts of next year’s planning is the welcoming of our incoming kindergartners at our annual Kindergarten Preview which will occur next Friday. We look forward to meeting the Maplebrook Class of 2025!

  • Strange Weather Week

Posted by Karen Buell on 2/1/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

It was great to welcome all of our Wildcats back to school today.  What a strange week of weather it has been. Hopefully you and your student(s) enjoyed some quality time safely inside this week.  While it was too cold to safely play outdoors, I’m sure they were able to engage in creative play inside and/or curl up to a good book.  It was disappointing that we had to cancel our Open House, but please fortunately we have rescheduled the event for February 21.

Strategic Blueprint

  • District 203’s FOCUS 2020 Strategic Blueprint

Posted by Superintendent Dan Bridges on 6/27/2014
FOCUS 2020 is the strategic plan for comprehensive improvement between 2014 and 2020, designed in response to community feedback, best practice, and a vision for the future. Ultimately, this blueprint will advance the fulfillment of the district’s mission.

FOCUS 2020’s foundation is the Future Focus Community Engagement process that occurred over the course of a year where hundreds of members from across the community provided feedback to the district leadership regarding areas such as facilities, finances, measuring student success, and programs of study. Learn more about Future Focus by clicking on the specific “Quick Link” to the left of this text.

The Blueprint includes four “Strategic Focus” areas, namely to:
    1. Design and implement effective practices that promote learning experiences for all.
    2. Foster a high-performance culture focused on student learning.
    3. Steward resources effectively to promote student learning.
    4. Effective communication and community relations.
Each Strategic Focus then establishes “Commitments.” These commitments are what the district leadership pledges to accomplish within a distinct timeframe. Each commitment then includes a detailed “Action Plan” which will be accessible by the public upon final draft.

District administrators provided an update on Blueprint Commitments to the Board of Education at the July 27, 2015 meeting.  To watch that presentation, please click here
