    Maplebrook Families,

We are blown away by the generous donations of your coins and bills this holiday season! With your help, we were able to raise $1,279.50.  With your gifts, we will be able to provide Maplebrook families with clothing/warm winter gear and a fund for students to be able to purchase books at the spring Book Fair, who otherwise would not be able to.  These are just a few of the many ways we will be able to give back to our own Maplebrook community this holiday season.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU, and we wish all of you Happy Holidays!

    Sincerely,

The Inside Out Club and SFCP

  • Congratulations Maplebrook Space C.A.T.S.

Posted by Karen Buell on 12/7/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Fifth grade students Addie Batsch, Madeline Hay, Avery Meisenheimer, Katherine Silder, and Sophie Riddell (picture) are members of the SPACE C.A.T.S. (Caring And Thinking Scientists), a First Lego League Robotics team that won their division at a regional tournament on December 1st!  The team earned the “Champions Award” for best overall performance in their group and qualified to compete at the state tournament in Elgin on January 19th and 20th.  First Lego League requires teams to build a robot, program robot missions, demonstrate teamwork through core values, and present a project that could make space travel easier for astronauts.  The Space C.A.T.S. designed suction cup shoes for treadmills that will help prevent muscle atrophy and bone loss on Mars missions. Way to go SPACE C.A.T.S., and good luck at state!

    Maplebrook Families,

    Winter is here!

On Wednesday, we welcomed Adam Russo, founder and CEO of Edgewood Clinical Services.  He discussed the importance of failure in a child's long-term social, emotional, and educational development.  If you are interested in this message but could not attend, here is a link to his book, Unwritten Rules: Real Strategies to Parent Your Child into a Successful Adult, and here is a link to his Naperville TEDx talk.  Thanks to the Home & School Executive Board for coordinating his visit.

    Maplebrook Families,

Last weekend provided nice running weather for our Turkey Trot.  Many thanks to Student Council for their work in coordinating this fun, annual event!  Coming up this next week, please be sure to acknowledge and thank our Educational Support Professionals on Wednesday, November 14.  This group includes our custodians, assistants, bus drivers and lunchroom staff. Their work is critical for the overall success of our Wildcats and allows our school to function on a daily basis, thank you!  Next week is also School Psychologist Awareness Week, so many thanks to Mrs. Estrada and her support of our students and families!

    Maplebrook Families,

The current forecast is mid-50s and cloudy skies for next Wednesday - fingers crossed it doesn’t change for the worse!  For your reference once again, please see this handout with information for our Fall Parade and Parties.  Recognizing we will be parading outdoors and many pictures will likely be taken, please be mindful of distributing or sharing pictures of other children via social media.

  • Fall is Here!

Posted by Karen Buell on 10/19/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Fall is definitely upon us!  With these fluctuating temperatures, please be sure your Wildcats are dressed appropriately for outdoor play.  Our entire building has been doing a great job demonstrating P.R.O.W.L. characteristics this year. Having reached our first goal of PROWL prints, we will celebrate “Sports Day” on Monday, October 22nd.  Wear your favorite sports team or sports wear to show PROWL pride!

Strategic Blueprint

  • District 203’s FOCUS 2020 Strategic Blueprint

Posted by Superintendent Dan Bridges on 6/27/2014
FOCUS 2020 is the strategic plan for comprehensive improvement between 2014 and 2020, designed in response to community feedback, best practice, and a vision for the future. Ultimately, this blueprint will advance the fulfillment of the district’s mission.

FOCUS 2020’s foundation is the Future Focus Community Engagement process that occurred over the course of a year where hundreds of members from across the community provided feedback to the district leadership regarding areas such as facilities, finances, measuring student success, and programs of study. Learn more about Future Focus by clicking on the specific “Quick Link” to the left of this text.

The Blueprint includes four “Strategic Focus” areas, namely to:
    1. Design and implement effective practices that promote learning experiences for all.
    2. Foster a high-performance culture focused on student learning.
    3. Steward resources effectively to promote student learning.
    4. Effective communication and community relations.
Each Strategic Focus then establishes “Commitments.” These commitments are what the district leadership pledges to accomplish within a distinct timeframe. Each commitment then includes a detailed “Action Plan” which will be accessible by the public upon final draft.

District administrators provided an update on Blueprint Commitments to the Board of Education at the July 27, 2015 meeting.  To watch that presentation, please click here
