    Maplebrook Families,

On behalf of the Maplebrook Staff, I’d like to extend our thanks and appreciation for the luncheon provided by Home & School today.  The soups, chili’s, sandwiches, and tasty treats filled our tummies… but they also filled our hearts with gratitude for having such a caring and supportive community.  Thank you so much, and here’s to a great final four days of school in 2017!

  • Thanks and Gratitude for Our Veterans

Posted by Karen Buell on 11/10/2017 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

We held our annual Veterans Day program this morning and were honored to welcome current and former service personnel as our guests for the ceremony.  Our focus of the program was to extend our thanks and gratitude for their service and appreciation.  Each guest had an opportunity to speak with our students.  For our families and students, on behalf of Student Council, thank you for your support during the “Operation Support Our Troops” collection and poppy sales.  Most of items for the the troops were collected as part of last Saturday’s Maplebrook Milers’ Turkey Trot.  Thank you to all that ran and supported our collection efforts!

    Have a nice weekend,

  • Fire Safety

Posted by Karen Buell on 10/13/2017 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Today, our students and staff participated in a Fire Drill.  For this one, the Naperville Fire Department was onsite to monitor and offer feedback on our current practice.  Our Wildcats performed very well during the drill.  The message we continuously share with our students is that they are always safe at school, and we encourage you to echo that message should you have any follow-up conversations at home.

    Have a nice weekend,

    Maplebrook Families,

It was great to see so many families at Curriculum Night this past week.  We hope you found this night full of meaningful information about our grade level curricula.  As mentioned during the session in the gym, this is an exciting time for District 203 as we look to best educate the whole child through our new Social Emotional Learning curriculum.  Whether you attended or not, please take a moment to review this portion of our district website to learn more about the curriculum.  For direct links to portions of our webpage: click here for links to the grades K-12 SEL snapshots, click here for resources (including parent tools), and click here for the K-2 SEL curriculum and for grades 3-5 click here. In follow-up to what we shared and these resources, feel free to contact your student’s(s’) teacher(s), Mrs. Schemidt, Assistant Principal, or Mr. DeBora, Principal.

  • First Two Days

Posted by Karen Buell on 8/18/2017 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families –

We had a great first two days of school!  We welcome our incoming kindergartners, our new families, and our returning Maplebrook Community.  For the last two days, I’ve enjoyed walking the halls seeing many smiling faces and engaging learning activities.  Our staff focused on making students feel safe, welcome, and supported.  Thank you to our Home & School Board and the H&S/SFCP volunteers that helped with school supplies, a welcome back breakfast for teachers, and the Teddy Bear Picnic.  We truly appreciate our volunteers.  Thank you so much for the hours of service that you give to Maplebrook as volunteers.  Looking to lend a hand and support Maplebrook?  Click here for the Signup Genius to volunteer for events throughout the year.

You will receive these Wiley Week “At A” Glance (or Wiley WAG) Talk203 emails in your inbox every Friday afternoon.  Please read through them for important updates for the upcoming week and beyond.

Strategic Blueprint

  • District 203’s FOCUS 2020 Strategic Blueprint

Posted by Superintendent Dan Bridges on 6/27/2014
FOCUS 2020 is the strategic plan for comprehensive improvement between 2014 and 2020, designed in response to community feedback, best practice, and a vision for the future. Ultimately, this blueprint will advance the fulfillment of the district’s mission.

FOCUS 2020’s foundation is the Future Focus Community Engagement process that occurred over the course of a year where hundreds of members from across the community provided feedback to the district leadership regarding areas such as facilities, finances, measuring student success, and programs of study. Learn more about Future Focus by clicking on the specific “Quick Link” to the left of this text.

The Blueprint includes four “Strategic Focus” areas, namely to:
    1. Design and implement effective practices that promote learning experiences for all.
    2. Foster a high-performance culture focused on student learning.
    3. Steward resources effectively to promote student learning.
    4. Effective communication and community relations.
Each Strategic Focus then establishes “Commitments.” These commitments are what the district leadership pledges to accomplish within a distinct timeframe. Each commitment then includes a detailed “Action Plan” which will be accessible by the public upon final draft.

District administrators provided an update on Blueprint Commitments to the Board of Education at the July 27, 2015 meeting.  To watch that presentation, please click here
