  • Morning Drop Off Notes and Reminders

Student arrival begins at 8:00 AM. Please do not drop your student off prior, as staff is not available to supervise. In the morning, if driving through the circle, please maintain one lane of traffic and do not pass other vehicles. Additionally, for safety, please remain in your vehicle and have students exit via doors on the passenger side of the vehicle. If your student is unable to independently unbuckle, please park your vehicle in an appropriate area to assist your Wildcat. Street parking is available. If you choose to park in the front circle, you must remain there until 8:15 A.M., to ensure the safety of all students and other drivers.

  • Carpooling Would Help Everyone!

It is no secret that we have many students being dropped off before school, especially on days of inclement weather and lower temperatures. Please consider carpooling with other Maplebrook families to decrease the number of vehicles coming and going and to maintain smooth traffic flow.

Many students have allergies and/or are frightened of animals, so please refrain from bringing your four-legged friends to school. Maplebrook Families:

What a great first two days of school we’ve had!  Our new Wildcats have transitioned very well into their classrooms.  It was wonderful to see all of the smiling faces and to watch them engage in meaningful learning activities, while fostering new friendships and developing strong relationships with their teachers and other staff.

Now that the year is up and running, I want thank our Home & School Board and the H&S/SFCP volunteers that helped with school supplies, a welcome back breakfast for staff, the Teddy Bear Picnic, and those that served as greeters this first week.  Thank you so much for the hours of service that you give to Maplebrook as volunteers. • End of the Year

Posted by Karen Buell on 5/25/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Wow!  It’s hard to believe that our school year is over.  We started the day with an awesome awards assembly where we were able to celebrate and acknowledge many of our students.  That program ended in an epic dance party since we hit our building goal of 5000 PROWL Prints. Throughout the day, our students were able to celebrate and reflect on all of their growth this year.  They were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather during a picnic-style outdoor lunch. We concluded our day with our annual “Clap Out” for our 5th Graders. We wish them well in junior high. Please be sure to congratulate your student(s) on all of their growth and successes this year!  Please find time to read some good books this summer. If you find any books in backpacks or bedrooms that say “Maplebrook,” please be sure to drop those off at school this summer. Thank you for your support of your student(s) and your continued partnership in learning! Have a wonderful summer!  I can’t wait to see our K-4 students back in August!

    Have a nice summer,

  • End of Year Celebrations

Posted by Karen Buell on 5/18/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Three great Maplebrook happenings in the last twenty-four hours!  We had a lovely 5th Grade Program last night. They performed and sounded amazing and I’m sure made their families proud with their growth over the last six years.  We hosted Matt Wilhelm today for an assembly. He was an America’s Got Talent Finalist and has amazing skills on a BMX bike, while also sharing a positive message about resilience, doing your best, and being kind to others.  Thanks to H&S for your support of this assembly for our students. Lastly, today we enjoyed the beautiful weather during an awesome Field Day! Thank you to everyone that volunteered! Our K-4 students had a great day at Maplebrook, extra thanks to Gina Guasta and Michelle Furlow for coordinating the day.  Or 5th graders had an amazing day at Winding Creek Park, extra thanks to Amy MacDonald, Ilana Speckman and Patty Segvich for coordinating all 5th grade activities and the day.

    Have a nice weekend,

    Maplebrook Families,

On behalf of the staff, thank you so much for your kind words, gifts, food, treats, and support during Teacher Appreciation Week.  Maplebrook has such a thoughtful and caring community! Thank YOU! Also, thanks to all that attended FunFest last Friday. It was wonderful to see so much of the Maplebrook Community enjoying the evening together.  Your financial support is very much appreciated - it goes towards field trips, assemblies, activities (such as roller skating), gifts (such as Birthday Books for students) and more! To those of you that volunteered (see the H&S section below), we can’t thank you enough for creating such a memorable event for our students!

    Have a nice weekend,

The sun is shining and temperatures are warm, what a great evening for FunFest!  Hope to see you here in about thirty minutes. In advance, thank you to everyone that helped coordinate the event, and thank you to all that are volunteering your time tonight.  Without your help, we wouldn’t be able to create such a fantastic experience for our Wildcats.

  • Team NEF

Posted by Karen Buell on 4/20/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Thank you for your continued support of Maplebrook.  Allow me to share details on another way to give back to Maplebrook and all students in District 203.  Please consider joining, or supporting, TEAM NEF in the Healthy Driven Naperville Half Marathon & 5K, on October 21, 2018.  This a great opportunity to raise money directly for Maplebrook because the NEF has reformatted its approach for 2018.  Half of the funds you provide will go a school of your choice (in our case, Maplebrook) and the other half will go to district-wide programs supported by the Naperville Education Foundation.

    Enjoy your weekend,

  • District Awards Night

Posted by Karen Buell on 4/13/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Annually, the district holds an Awards Night to celebrate staff and community members for their contributions to District 203.  Join me in celebrating Maplebrook’s nominees that were recognized at last night’s ceremony: Laura Bass, Learning Commons Teacher; Karen Buell, Computer Support Associate; Maggie Daly, 2nd Grade Teacher; Hannah Wood, Speech and Language Pathologist.  I’m humbled to have been the recipient of the District 203 Outstanding Administrator Award.  While I received individual recognition, it is truly a reflection of the outstanding work and dedication by our staff and volunteers.  Please join me in thanking all of our staff for everything they do for the students of Maplebrook. Also, thanks to you for your continued support and for trusting us to nurture, educate, and inspire your children everyday.

  • Spring Vacation

Posted by Karen Buell on 3/23/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Spring Vacation is upon us, which means that we’re heading into our last two months of school.  Our students will have plenty of learning ahead of them so encourage your student to read, draw, write, create, explore and/or innovate to keep their brains active this next week.  Also remember that healthy minds and healthy bodies go hand-in-hand, so be sure to encourage them to engage in outdoor play too!

Enjoy your week with family and friends,

  • STEM Fair

Posted by Karen Buell on 3/9/2018 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families,

Last night we hosted our Inaugural STEM Fair.  Thanks to SFCP (Erin Brignac, Rachna Prasad and Leah McGrath) for their work in creating such an engaging learning opportunity for our students.  All of our 3-5 participants demonstrated outstanding scientific inquiry skills, and it was very impressive to hear what they investigated/created and what they learned.  Thanks to our “judges” that volunteered their time to listen to each and every student share their project. For our families that helped their K-2 student(s), thank you for your partnership of supporting STEM activities at home.

Strategic Blueprint

  • District 203’s FOCUS 2020 Strategic Blueprint

Posted by Superintendent Dan Bridges on 6/27/2014
FOCUS 2020 is the strategic plan for comprehensive improvement between 2014 and 2020, designed in response to community feedback, best practice, and a vision for the future. Ultimately, this blueprint will advance the fulfillment of the district’s mission.

FOCUS 2020’s foundation is the Future Focus Community Engagement process that occurred over the course of a year where hundreds of members from across the community provided feedback to the district leadership regarding areas such as facilities, finances, measuring student success, and programs of study. Learn more about Future Focus by clicking on the specific “Quick Link” to the left of this text.

The Blueprint includes four “Strategic Focus” areas, namely to:
    1. Design and implement effective practices that promote learning experiences for all.
    2. Foster a high-performance culture focused on student learning.
    3. Steward resources effectively to promote student learning.
    4. Effective communication and community relations.
Each Strategic Focus then establishes “Commitments.” These commitments are what the district leadership pledges to accomplish within a distinct timeframe. Each commitment then includes a detailed “Action Plan” which will be accessible by the public upon final draft.

District administrators provided an update on Blueprint Commitments to the Board of Education at the July 27, 2015 meeting.  To watch that presentation, please click here
