  • Upcoming Dates and Reminders, Week of March 22, 2020

Good Evening, This is A.J. McCree, Principal of Ann Reid Early Childhood Center, with your announcements for the week. Well, it sure has been an interesting week, and we seem to get new information on a daily basis. Although I don’t have any new updates to share with you, I wanted to reach out to say “hello”. I know some of you are rocking this thing, and for some of you it is a struggle. I want to tell you, that either way, you are not alone. We are all in this together. Thank you for being so patient and supportive of us as we navigate this E-Learning process. Your positive emails and SeeSaw comments mean the world to us. We have posted a second week of activities on our website. However, more importantly, I want to encourage you to take this time to connect with your children. E-Learning shouldn’t be a source of stress for them or you. We know everyone is doing the very best they can. I am proud of how our students are handling this new way of learning. They are problem solving and persevering through uncharted waters. Though this is a scary time, if navigated cautiously and by focusing this time on reconnecting with family, this could be a time of resilience. It’s certainly a time we will never forget. Please stay safe and know we miss you all!

  • Attendance Reminders

This holiday season, the best gift you can give your child is a good education. And the best place to get that education is in school. Every day. Just a few missed days here and there, even if they are excused absences, can add up to too much lost learning time and put your child behind in school. This is as true in preschool as it is in high school. Please make sure your child is in school every day, right up until vacation starts. Our teachers will be teaching, and our students will be learning.

  • Transportation Reminders

    • Our parking lot often fills quickly during arrival, dismissal, and family events. Arrive early if your schedule is tight. If you need to park in the neighborhoods during family events, then please only parking on one side of this street. This will keep everyone safe, be respectful of our neighbors, and it’s the law. Section 11-2A-1 of the Naperville Municipal Code: it is not permitted to park a vehicle "at any place where the standing of a vehicle will reduce the usable width of the roadway for moving traffic to less than eighteen (18) feet."Click the link above to review important information if you are driving your child to school.

  • Photo ID Required

Be prepared to show a photo ID every time you are visiting the school or checking a child out of school. This is for the safety of students.

  • Volunteering in the Learning Commons

Volunteering in the Learning Commons, Library(LC) is a wonderful way to get involved in the Ann Reid community. I am looking for volunteers to help in the LC and resource room; collect books for classrooms, check in books, check out books, read with students during their visit to the library, and help prepare materials for classroom teachers, i.e., cutting, laminating, tracing, and making copies. A volunteer can be anyone that has time to donate to our school; parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles or community members. Click the link above to sign up to volunteer.
