    Huskie Families,

In this message I would like to officially welcome students and families to the 2020-2021 school year. While I have been at Naperville North for almost 20 years, it is my first in the role of Principal. I am honored and humbled to serve the students, families and staff in this capacity. Together we will make this a successful year.

Naperville North is widely recognized for academic, activities, and athletic excellence. We will continue to be among the very best in all that we do. While we will be operating under unprecedented circumstances, our standards and expectations remain high. Teachers will focus on building and developing relationships with students in the first few weeks of the semester as a foundation for learning. Social emotional learning has been and will continue to be a priority for the Huskie community.

Teachers have been hard at work preparing for this version of eLearning. They have access to an incredible variety of resources and professional learning to help maximize learning and students’ experience. We are optimistic the daily synchronous sessions in each course will provide an engaging learning environment. Each Canvas course will use a common landing page to make navigating more consistent and parents will now have observer privileges in each course to provide support as needed.

The success of the Huskies does not come from one individual or group. It comes from the entire community working together and supporting one another. This not only includes our teachers and students but also our wonderful assistants, custodians, volunteers, and bus drivers working along with supportive families to ensure success. We value the partnership and would encourage you to reach out to the school if you have any questions or issues that we can help with.

I like to use the hashtag #huskiestrong. It reminds me of all the positive things that our staff and students are doing in the face of a true challenge. For years, I have seen Naperville North Huskies have widespread success in the classroom and in competition during ‘normal’ times. This year will allow us the opportunity to experience the true strength of the Huskie pack. I am confident we are up for the challenge. Let’s make it a great year!
