Dear Huskie Students and Parents,
With this letter, I officially begin my seventh year as principal (with a year at the district level included) of NNHS by welcoming the Class of 2025 to the Huskie family and inviting everyone to make the most of the 2021-22 school year! I’d also like to share with you why I am so pleased to be a part of this incredible school! Naperville North High School is considered to be among the finest schools in the nation. We are routinely recognized for educational excellence. Such recognition doesn’t occur by chance. It is the result of three things: motivated students, caring parents/guardians, and the dedicated faculty and staff members. Rarely does a community come together in such a focused and passionate manner to ensure all students participate in a collectively robust and rich experience.
With that being said, coming out of the unusual circumstances of the last year, and the continuing “next normal” scenario, it is imperative that collectively, we as the Huskie community, embrace our roles in transitioning our students and supporting their success this year. I’ll be sharing with you soon a student/teacher/parent compact that outlines each of our roles so that we continue the strong, healthy relationship we've always enjoyed while recognizing that all of us may need to support each other in a different way. After all, we are stronger together, driven to partner for the growth of all.
While I publicly proclaim the classroom teacher’s role in the successful education of our children, I also know that parents, volunteers, coaches, support staff, teaching assistants, custodians, food service workers, and bus drivers also play a vitally important role in creating a school environment that is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. At Naperville North, we all contribute directly to the successful and joyous experiences of our students.
This year, as a school community, we will again be placing a focus on social emotional learning for students and providing support in mastering essential standards in every content area. We encourage parents to participate in our fourth year of parent engagement speakers as we plan to cover interesting and diverse subjects throughout the school year.
Thank you for entrusting your students to NNHS,
Stephanie Posey
Principal, Naperville North High School
