JJHS T203 Review

  • June Update

Posted by Megan Ptak on 6/24/2020

    Dear Patriot Families,

I hope that you are enjoying the nice weather and spending as much time as possible outside.  I wanted to inform the JJHS community about some administrative changes for next year, as these changes were approved last night at the Board of Education meeting.  Our Assistant Principals, Mrs. Farmer and Mr. Decker, have accepted other positions in District 203 and we will all miss them tremendously. These professional growth opportunities will allow them to build their administrative leadership capacity and work with some different programs in District 203.

I am also very excited to welcome our new Assistant Principals to JJHS. Please join me and our staff in welcoming Ms. Fricke and Mrs. Niederman.

Ms. Fricke has worked in District 203 for the past eight years, and she was a teacher in Champaign Community Unit School District 4 prior to her move to Naperville. Her career in Naperville has included teaching eighth grade science at Washington Junior High, teaching Chemistry at Naperville North High School, and serving as Assistant Principal at Lincoln Junior High for the past three years. Ms. Fricke is in her second year as the Director of Junior High Summer Learning and currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Aurora University. She is eager to meet the Patriot families and is dedicated to ensuring students build meaningful relationships, engage in their learning, and gain a sense of accomplishment each day.

Mrs. Niederman has been in Naperville 203 her whole career. She worked at Washington Junior High the past twelve years as a Special Education teacher, a Reading Specialist and an Instructional Coach. She recently graduated North Central College with a masters in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Niederman also works with Summer Learning supporting Kindergarten through Eighth Grade Literacy and Math. She is passionate about student’s academic success and well-being at school, and looks forward to meeting the students and families of the Jefferson community. Fun fact, Mrs. Niederman attended Jefferson Junior High as a student and knows our traditions well.

They are both looking forward to meeting all of our JJHS families when we return to school. Please offer them a warm welcome!

You will be receiving a summer letter sometime in the second week of July.  The letter will contain information about next school year.  A lot of this same information, along with important information from the District, will be posted on the JJHS website in the near future.  The  2020-2021 fee statement will be included with the summer letter.

Due to these unprecedented times, we do not have finalized dates for locker set-up and school supply pick-up.  Once we have further direction on our return to school plan, we will communicate those dates with all of our JJHS families.

Thanks again for all of your support and we are looking forward to next school year.

    Sincerely,

    Megan Ptak, JJHS Principal

    Hello Patriot Families!

The counselors would like to wish you and your family a great and safe summer!  Our hopes are that our students will get to relax and enjoy some time with family and friends.  Before the school year ends, we would like to thank each and every one of you for the hard work and dedication that has gone into assisting your child during this remote learning period.  As parents, we can also add teaching to our list of skills now.  Please see attached for some community resources that will continue to be available throughout the summer.  Best wishes and see you next school year!
