    Purpose of Summer Learning:

To maximize the opportunity for summer programs to advance every child’s learning, District 203 offers Summer School programs for elementary, junior high and high school students.

    Summer School Options

6 Week Option for Elementary and Junior High-

Programs are delivered in two - 3 week sessions.  Families have the option of signing up for one or both sessions.  A six week summer learning experience is recommended to prevent summer learning loss in our students.

    Schedule Changes:

General Education, EL, and ESY programs grades K-8 will only be in session Mondays-Thursdays beginning in 2020.  The Naperville Park District and Champions will offer an all-day camp for families who need childcare on Fridays for grades K-4.  See below for camp information.

    Location Changes for 2020:

Junior High summer learning will be at Jefferson Jr. High.

High School summer learning will be at Naperville Central High School.

    Transportation

Transportation will be available for $30 per three week session for qualifying District 203 residents. Registration received prior to May 15, 2020 will be used to construct bus routes. Bus routes are unique to summer enrollment and may not reflect the established routes of the regular school year. Registrations that include transportation submitted after May 15, 2020 will not be considered in the development of bus routes; however students will be able to join an existing route once they are posted.  If joining a bus route after May 15, it will take 3 days to add students to the bus route.  If this happens after the start of summer classes, it will be the responsibility of the family to provide transportation until the bus roster is updated. This transportation is ONLY available for Summer School Session 1 arrival, which occurs between 7:30-8:30 a.m. depending on the summer school site, and at the end of Session 2, between 11:45 and 12:20 depending on the summer school site.  Eligibility for transportation will follow the regular school year bussing policies found at:  http://www.naperville203.org/domain/874Students who are current walkers at River Woods, Steeple Run, Jefferson, Naperville Central, and Naperville North families less than 1.5 miles from NCHS, will not be eligible for transportation.  ELL and ESY programs will continue to provide transportation at no cost.  ***

***Transportation will not be available for students in grades K-8 on Fridays for all day summer camps.

    Summer School Camp

Summer School Camp- The Naperville Park District will continue to offer Summer School Camp at the Elementary sites on Mondays-Thursdays from 12:00 PM- 5:30 PM. Champions will continue to offer a Summer School Camp at Maplebrook Elementary Mondays-Thursdays from 12:00 PM- 5:30 PM. Students attending camp at Maplebrook will be bussed from their summer learning locations to camp. Lunch will be provided. Registration is available through the Naperville Park District and Champions websites, www.napervilleparks.org or www.discoverchampions.com.

***Due to elementary summer learning occurring Mondays-Thursdays beginning in 2020, an all-day camp will be offered on Fridays during the summer session (no camp July 3 due to the holiday). Families must provide their own transportation to these camps on Fridays. See the Naperville Park District and Champions websites for locations and registration.

Details and registration forms for all summer programs will be posted on this page as soon as they are available. Online and paper registrations will open on March 4, 2020 at 7:00 a.m.  Please click on the following link for access to online registration:
