Purpose of Summer Learning:  To maximize the opportunity for summer programs to advance every child’s learning, District 203 offers Summer School programs for elementary, junior high and high school students.

    Summer School Options

Six Week Option for Elementary and Junior High- Programs are delivered in two-three week sessions.  Families have the option of signing up for one or both sessions.  A six week summer learning experience is recommended to prevent summer learning loss in our students.

Junior High Summer School has been moved to Madison Jr. High

New Classes- See specific program registration documents for new class offerings in Junior High.  All K-8 classes have undergone a review this fall and align to the learning standards from the regular school year.

Transportation-   Transportation will be available for $25 per three week session for qualifying District 203 residents. Registration received prior to May 19, 2017 will be used to construct bus routes. Bus routes are unique to summer enrollment and may not reflect the established routes of the regular school year. Registrations that include transportation submitted after May 19, 2017 will not be considered in the development of bus routes; however students will be able to join an existing route once they are posted.  If joining a bus route after May 19, it will take 3 days to add students to the bus route.  If this happens after the start of summer classes, it will be the responsibility of the family to provide transportation until the bus roster is updated. This transportation is ONLY available for Summer School Session 1 arrival, which occurs between 7:30-8:30 a.m. depending on the summer school site, and at the end of Session 2, between 11:45 and 12:20 depending on the summer school site.  Eligibility for transportation will follow the regular school year bussing policies found at:  https://www.naperville203.org/domain/874.  ELL and ESY programs will continue to provide transportation at no cost.

DRIVER EDUCATION- Due to popularity, registration for Drivers Education for the summer of 2017 will be based on a lottery system. Lottery entries will be collected at the NNHS and NCHS front desks from January 11-January 31. Please stop by and fill out a ticket. Names will be pulled the first full week of February and all entrants will be informed of results at that time. Payment will be collected and registration finalized for those whose names were pulled in the first weeks of February.

Snacks will continue to be served by Aramark between sessions at the Elementary and Junior High programs at no additional charge.

Summer School Camp- The Naperville Park District will continue to offer an afternoon camp at the Elementary sites right after summer classes end.  Lunch will be provided.  Registration for the Summer School Camp will be available through the Naperville Park District website.

Details and registration forms for all summer programs will be posted on this page as soon as they are available. Online and paper registrations will open on January 11th at 7:00 a.m.
