Transportation
Transportation to/from Summer Learning is available for the following programs:
Elementary: Gen. Ed., ESY, EL at Prairie and Kingsley Elementary
Junior High: Gen. Ed., ESY, EL at LJHS
High School: Gen. Ed., ESY, EL at NNHS
Due to bus availability and transportation costs, summer transportation is only available at the start and end of the summer learning school day for general education and EL bus riders. See program pages for the start and end times.
Transportation will be available for $30 per semester for qualifying Naperville 203 residents in grades K-12. Registration received prior to May 14, 2025 will be used to construct bus routes. Bus routes are unique to summer enrollment and may not reflect the established routes of the regular school year. Registrations that include transportation submitted after May 14, 2025, will not be considered in the development of bus routes; however students will be able to join an existing route once they are posted. If joining a bus route after May 14, it will take three days to add students to the bus route. If this happens after the start of summer classes, it will be the responsibility of the family to provide transportation until the bus roster is updated. This transportation is ONLY available for Summer School Session 1 arrival, which occurs between 7:30-8:30 a.m. depending on the summer school site, and at the end of Session 2, between 11:25 a.m.-12:20 p.m. depending on the summer school site. Eligibility for transportation will follow the regular school year bussing policies. Students who are current walkers to NNHS, Lincoln Junior High School, Prairie, or Kingsley, as well as families of NCHS students who are less than 1.5 miles from NNHS, will not be eligible for transportation. ELL and ESY programs will continue to provide transportation at no cost.
Families who need transportation to/from a site other than the student’s home address need to complete the Request to Transport a Student to/from a Different Bus Stop form and submit it to the transportation department by the May 14, 2025 deadline. Requests sent in after this date cannot be guaranteed that the request will be honored.
More Summer School Transportation Information:
Naperville 203 provides bus transportation for eligible students participating in summer learning programs. Please keep the following important information in mind when using summer bus service:
- Summer routes are different from regular school year routes. These routes are designed specifically for summer learning programs and may include longer travel times and different pickup locations than your child is used to during the school year.
- Bus stops may serve multiple students over different sessions. Even if your child is the only one at the stop initially, other students may be picked up or dropped off during different Summer Learning sessions.
- Be at the bus stop 5 minutes early. To ensure your child doesn’t miss the bus, we ask that all students be waiting outside at their assigned stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Buses cannot wait for late arrivals.
- Route times are subject to change. As enrollment in Summer Learning continues, route times may be adjusted. Please check your transportation details prior to the start of Summer Learning and watch for any updates from the District.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as our transportation team works to safely and efficiently get students to and from their summer learning opportunities.
