Patrick Meier – NCHS Class of 2017
Internship with City of Naperville Finance Department

“This experience is one of the best experiences of my life. I learned the difference between a public and private sector. In the public sector, everyone’s goal is to help everyone else instead of themselves. Every tour of every department I went on there was a common theme – people who are really passionate about their job.”

Jonathan Tao - NNHS Class of 2018
    Internship with Naperville Park District

"It’s been a wonderful experience, but moreover it was my great privilege to have worked alongside a community of motivated and kind individuals. In the short 8-weeks I’ve been here, I’ve learned so much about the private sector, the public sector, and life in general."

Sydney Vander Veen - NNHS Class of 2015
Internship with Naperville 203 Communications/Community Relations Department

"This internship has been incredibly eye-opening and has allowed me to do things I never thought I would be able to do. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn and build upon the skills I have developed thus far in my academic career in a real world setting."

Morrel Francis - NNHS Class of 2015
Internship with Loaves & Fishes Community Services

"My Loaves & Fishes experience was a great early introduction into how to run a successful non-for profit. I was given hands on experience in operations, marketing, finance, and management, and this experience was a factor in my decision to major in business."

Sean McGowan- NCHS Class of 2016
    Internship with RR Donnelley

"Entering my senior year of high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do in college. I was interested in business, but didn't know a lot about it. The opportunity to intern with RR Donnelley gave me that knowledge. The ability to learn about the corporate world was amazing, and gave me a solid idea about what I wanted to do going into college. Today, as a student in the University of Illinois' College of Business, many of my professional skills are grounded in my experience with RR Donnelley, and continue to serve me everyday. These skills allow me to confidently speak with professionals, build further on my education, and allow me to represent myself in the best way possible."

Julie Park - NCHS Class of 2017
Internship with Naperville 203 Communications/Community Relations Department

"My internship experience at the school district has changed the way I act and think both individually and when working with others. College moves by very quickly, so the adaptation to this lifestyle has been easier for me since I still use the same organized way of planning tasks to accomplish them on time. Now, when I'm working in groups I find that I can skillfully communicate my ideas to people, while integrating them with others' ideas, which is something I learned to do during my high school internship. These are qualities that really improve my work efficiency and quality overall, and that I am incredibly thankful for."

Kevin Dalton - NNHS Class of 2017
Internship with Naperville 203 Communications/Community Relations Department

"My internship with Naperville 203 Communications/Community Relations was an invaluable experience. I learned not only good workplace skills and gained career experience in Public Relations and Media Production, but I also improved my ability to communicate effectively and to manage my time, which will no doubt help me with whatever career path I choose."
