Emergency Response in 203
Naperville 203 utilizes a version of the nationally recognized Standard Response Protocol, which replaces confusing action terms such as Lockdown, Soft Lockdown and Hard Lockdown. These terms may lead staff, students and parents to be confused in an emergency. The following are the standard responses in 203.
Position of Safety - There is an active threat.
Hold in Place - There is a need to restrict movement
Secure Building - Inside building is safer than outside
Evacuate - Outside building is safer than inside
Severe Weather/Shelter in Place - Take shelter within designated areas
Response Training in 203
This is much broader than traditional safety training. While we conduct safety drills and align safety training with ALICE strategies, our training also provides teachers and staff with tools to create a welcoming environment within our classrooms.
- ALICE strategies
- Stop the Bleed
- Safety Drills
- Table Top Exercises
- Incident Command System
- Emergency Response Bags
