Naperville 203 Welcomes Alex Morrow as New Meadow Glens Principal

Stepping into the role of principal at Meadow Glens Elementary is an honor for Alex Morrow, a dedicated educator whose career has come full circle within Naperville 203. Having spent her entire professional journey in a district that prioritizes students, educators, and community connections, Morrow is eager to bring her passion for leadership and relationship-building to her new role.

Throughout her career, Morrow has served in a variety of roles across several Naperville 203 schools, including River Woods, Ranch View, Ellsworth, Scott, and Naper. From student teaching to classroom instruction, and later as a learning support coach, testing coordinator, and new educator lead, each experience has shaped her leadership style. Her goal is to foster a school culture where every student feels a deep sense of belonging, every staff member feels supported, and every family remains engaged in the school community. Now, she is excited to bring that commitment to Meadow Glens.

Morrow’s journey in education began at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, though her path soon brought her back to Chicago to care for family. She earned degrees in communication and elementary education from DePaul University, followed by master’s degrees from Aurora University and the University of St. Francis. She also obtained her administrative credentials from Aurora University.

Beyond her academic achievements, Morrow’s passion for education is rooted in the power of relationships. She firmly believes that schools thrive when people feel seen, heard, and valued, and she is committed to creating that kind of environment at Meadow Glens.

At the heart of her life is family. Her husband, Scott, is an eighth-grade teacher in Oswego, and together they are raising two active boys—Bennett, 10, and Eli, 5—who fill their home with energy and joy. Their Goldendoodle, Lola, adds an extra layer of love and excitement to the family. Whether traveling, spending time outdoors, or cheering from the sidelines at baseball, basketball, and football games, the Morrow family cherishes every moment together.

Outside of education, Morrow enjoys exploring her creative side and even runs a small interior design business. She is an avid audiobook listener, a passionate traveler, and someone who deeply values lifelong friendships—her closest friends have been by her side since third grade.

From the moment she was introduced to Meadow Glens, Morrow felt the warmth and spirit of the school community. The enthusiasm of parents and staff during the selection process, along with the incredibly heartfelt welcome—including pom-poms and flowers at the board meeting—left a lasting impression. She is especially grateful for the support of district leaders, her mentor Tracy, and her SSC colleague Dianna, who have guided her through this transition.

As she begins this new chapter, Morrow looks forward to building strong relationships, celebrating student successes, and collaborating with the dedicated staff at Meadow Glens. With enthusiasm and commitment, she is ready to create an environment where every child can thrive.
