Scott Elementary School Recognized as a U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 is excited to announce that Scott Elementary School has been honored as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. This prestigious designation is awarded to only 356 schools nationwide and celebrates schools that demonstrate exceptional academic performance or make significant progress in closing achievement gaps among student groups.

“We are incredibly honored to be designated a National Blue Ribbon School,” said Principal Hugh Boger. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our exceptional staff, the perseverance and commitment of our students, and the unwavering support of our wonderful Scott community. This honor reinforces our belief that 'Together We Can' hold all students to high expectations for learning and that we can and should expect success for every child, every day.”

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes schools that set high academic standards, create positive school environments, and foster collaborative efforts between families, communities, and educators. Superintendent Dan Bridges highlighted the district’s pride in Scott Elementary’s achievement, stating, “We are honored to have Scott Elementary School named a Blue Ribbon School. This recognition celebrates the dedication of our educators, families, and communities in creating safe, welcoming schools where students thrive in challenging and engaging environments.”

Since 2002, District 203 has earned 12 National Blue Ribbon School awards. The recognition emphasizes leadership, data-driven instruction, and professional development, all of which contribute to ensuring student success. Schools are recognized in one of two categories: Exemplary High Performing Schools, which are among the top performers in their state, or Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing Schools, which excel in narrowing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

Scott Elementary School now joins the ranks of an elite group of schools nationwide that demonstrate excellence in education and a commitment to student success.
