The Excellence in Education Banquet honors seniors from Naperville Central and Naperville North. These students represent the highest-achieving academicians of this year's graduating class. Adults who were chosen by the students as their Most Influential Educators are also honored. This program is made possible by the Naperville Education Foundation
and the Naperville School District 203 Board of Education.
“We are so happy to be a part of the audience for your next chapter, where you will go forth from Naperville and quite seriously, change the world,” said Board president Kristin Fitzgerald.
The 88 students honored wrote a few words about the impact of their most influential educator, which Principals Bill Wiesbrook (NCHS) and Stephanie Posey (NNHS) read aloud as both the student and teacher walked across the stage. Each student received a medal to commemorate their achievement to be worn at graduation.
This year, Julie Park and Alejandra Rodriguez gave the student remarks for both Naperville Central and Naperville North High Schools.
“As the class of 2017, we thank you high school for what your crazy, hectic, and beautifully weird four years have taught us,” said Park. “And thank you all, for showing me the way to finally be authentically me."
