Ms. Colleen Morgan

My name is Colleen Morgan and I am so honored and excited to be a part of the Ann Reid family. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I earned my English as a Second Language Endorsement in 2012, and in 2014, I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Governors State University.  I worked for 3 years as a paraprofessional for early childhood aged students, for seven and a half years as an at-risk and blended early childhood teacher and for two and a half years as a Learning and Behavior Specialist at both the elementary and middle school level. Most recently, I worked as an LBS at Kingsley Elementary here in District 203 and am thrilled to now be at Ann Reid with our littlest learners. I grew up in Evergreen Park and recently moved to Darien where I currently live with my husband, daughter, son, and our dog. Some of my favorite things to do are go for walks, have picnics with my children, spend time outside, and watch movies.  It is my belief that children learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process. I also believe that play is an essential part of learning in young children. “Children learn as they play. More importantly, in play, children learn how to learn.”- O. Fred Donaldson
