Literacy Center Philosophy
The Literacy and Academic Support Department courses and offerings have been designed to focus on promoting literacy, developing academic discipline, and advancing study skills and habits. These courses are intended to be taken in conjunction with other content area classes, and the approaches to learning and studying can be practiced and transferred.
The Literacy and Academic Support Department offers the following support opportunities:
- Academic Reading courses (Freshman)
- Sophomore, Junior, and Senior level reading seminar electives
- Supervised Open Study (after school in the Learning Commons)
- Academic Peer Tutoring (before school and during all lunch periods in the Literacy Center)
