Do you lay awake at night contemplating the Fibonacci Sequence? Do you catch yourself thinking about the probability of landing on Park Place with hotels if you are on Pennsylvania Avenue? Do you wish you could have the opportunity to show off your amazing math skills in competitions?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you should consider joining the Jefferson Math Team. The season begins in early November and ends in early March. Weekly meetings give students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades the opportunity to work out many different kinds of math problems, most of which you wouldn’t find in a math textbook.
Students also have the opportunity to tryout for one of our competitions during the season. In the past these competitions have included MathCounts Regional and State, St. Francis, and Marmion Academy competitions. Our reputation is stellar having won several individual and team awards.
