Assistant Principal's Message

Hello, Elmwood Families!

My name is Sarah Cain and I have the honor of being the Assistant Principal at Elmwood Elementary School.  I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing community of students, teachers, and families.  I have worked in District 203 as a classroom teacher, instructional coordinator, and assistant principal. 

I believe in the importance of creating an engaging learning environment for all students- it is imperative that students find a love of learning during their elementary school years to lay a strong foundation for their future.   Our goal at Elmwood is to provide your children with the best educational and social emotional experience possible to ensure that they become self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers and community contributors. 

On a personal note, I am also a mother to two school aged children.  Therefore, I can relate to the parent side of things, as I myself am supporting my boys with homework and projects, while attempting to maintain a social emotional balance!  I for one believe firsthand that raising a child takes a village!  Here at Elmwood, we are proud to be a part of your “village!” Partnering home and school is critical, and I hope to get to work with each and every one of you at some point during your child’s elementary career.
