Chorus is a full-year course open to all students in 6th through 8th who like to sing in a group setting. Emphasis is on singing two and three part treble music with a progression to mixed 3 and 4 part voicing in the 8th grade year; exposure to a wide variety of choral music styles and techniques; singing in foreign languages; and the development of the fundamentals of good musicianship. Students also learn fundamentals of musicianship including note-reading, articulation, tone production and musical expression. Chorus students meet in a full rehearsal setting twice a week and are also a part of a small group, rotating sectional during their supervised study.
