Indicator CL12: All school personnel will work effectively and equitably with racially, culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse students.


  •  Implementation of 5th grade student consultants and Peer Buddies.
  • All certified staff will engage in a culturally responsive book study and apply new practice to current instruction.
  • Staff will incorporate culturally diverse literature provided in the curriculum.
  •  Home and School will provide funding for economically diverse students (i.e. field trips, spirit wear, yearbooks).
  • Prairie community will support all new families in a variety of ways.
  • Staff will participate in professional learning of Culturally Responsive Practices and opportunities to collaborate about students’ diverse needs.
  • Staff will implement a system where all stakeholders have a voice in the creation of class lists to meet the needs of the individual students.
  • All teachers will utilize interest inventories to learn more about student background.
  • Prairie School will supply breakfast and snacks to students who are in need.
  • Prairie School will create a structure that provides opportunities for all staff to have open. communication to meet the needs of all students.

  • Staff will increase parent communication for students who are involved in the IEP, 504, or problem solving process.
  • Each grade level will examine homework policies and procedures so all students' needs are met.
  • Staff will develop a process to meet unique student needs that impact learning.
  • Staff will examine extra-curricular activities to ensure support of student needs and curriculum.
  • Staff will Re-examine Study Skills annually to ensure it meets the needs of current students.

Indicator IIIA07: All teachers will differentiate assignments (individualize instruction) in response to individual student performance on pre-tests and other methods of assessment.


  • Teachers will utilize Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Reading Assessment to provide data for literacy instruction throughout the school year

  • Grade level teams will explore and implement formative unit assessments in mathematics.
  • Teachers will collect formative assessment data from additional sources.
  • All teams will participate in biweekly data meetings to promote differentiation.
  • Teachers will increase opportunities for remedial and enrichment instruction in literacy.
  • Teachers will increase opportunities for remedial and enrichment instruction in mathematics.
