Strategic Math
Students are identified through a variety of assessments as needing additional math support. The Strategic Math curriculum is partially comprised of research-based programs and approaches to help students develop their procedural fluency and conceptual understanding of middle school math concepts as outlined by the common core state standards.
The following is a brief description of some of the programs used in Strategic Math courses:
- ALEKS: a web based program focusing on the most essential previously taught topics in the categories of whole numbers, fractions, decimal, geometry, algebra, measurement & graphs, proportions, percent & probability
- Do the Math Fractions: Using manipulatives to build conceptual knowledge of fractions.
- FASTT Math: a web based program focusing on fact fluency. Middle school students usually begin with multiplication
- Fraction Nation: a web based program focusing on increasing fraction fluency
