• What is the "Moving On" Ceremony? and when is it?

    Each year the Madison community recognizes and commemorates our 8th grade students' transition to high school. There will be a ceremony immediately followed by a reception. The reception will provide punch, cookies and photo opportunities.

  • What can I expect from the Moving On Ceremony?

    The assembly will include several student speeches and performances by our choir and band groups prior to students being individually recognized with a certificate.

  • How long will the assembly last?

    The assembly is scheduled to begin at 1:00 and typically is one hour in length. After the assembly, students and their guests are invited to a reception with light refreshments in the cafetorium.

  • What should my son or daughter wear to the event?

    Students are asked to not only abide by the school dress code, but to consider the following manner of dress:
    •  Gentlemen – a nice shirt (dress shirt, polo, etc.) and dress slacks
    •  Ladies – skirts, blouses, day dresses, and dress slacks, and comfortable shoes

    Due to space constraints, we ask that each student invite only two guests to the event.

    Moving On Ceremony Visitor Information

    We look forward to guests of our 8th grade students attending our Moving On assembly.

    The assembly starts at 1:00; guests will be admitted to the gymnasium beginning at 12:30. No visitors will be allowed in the building prior to then. We ask that all guests park in the rear of the building and enter through the gymnasium doors #27 or #28 (these doors face River Oak Drive).

    As a reminder, we ask that each student is restricted to two guests due to space constraints.
