Instrumental music is available to students in fourth and fifth grade. The Elmwood Band performs throughout the year, including a winter concert, a band/orchestra/chorus spring concert, and the fifth grade band festival. Throughout the year, students are working on performance music as well as achievement lines and scale requirements.

All interested fourth and fifth grade students are able to participate in Elmwood's Orchestra program. Instrument choices include Violin Viola, Cello, and Double Bass. Students receive one small group lesson and one full ensemble rehearsal each week, and will additionally have two-three concerts every school year!

Fifth grade students interested in furthering their music ability may also audition to participate in District #203 Honor Strings, which meets once a week from mid-October through February. Audition material is released in September.
