What time can students arrive in the morning?
Posted by:We ask that students do not arrive before 8:00am as there is no adult supervision.

How do I report student absences?
Posted by:Please call the Health/Attendance Office at (630) 420-3203 prior to 7:45 AM and include date, student's name, teacher's name and reason.

What do I do if my child is late?
Posted by:If your child will be arriving late, please call the Health/Attendance office at (630) 420-3203 by 7:45 a.m. When you bring your child to school, you must come in through Door 1 and sign them in at the office.

What if I need to get a message to my child during the school day?
Posted by:It is important to limit classroom interruptions. If the message is an emergency, the office staff will direct it appropriately, otherwise, call the Meadow Glens at (630) 420-3200 and a note will be delivered to your child’s classroom at the end of the day.

What if my child forgot an item at home?
Posted by:Bring the item directly to the school office, marked clearly with the student's name and teacher. The office will send a message to the teacher and your child will be sent to pick it up.

What if I am taking my child out of school for an appointment during the school day?
Posted by:Notify the Health/Attendance Office at (630) 420-3203, and teacher, of any planned absences (appointments, vacations, funerals). You must come in to the office through Door 1 and sign your child out. -
What are the lunch and recess times?

When do students have indoor and outdoor recess?
Posted by:Children go outside for lunch recess every day when the wind chill temperature is above 0º f, and it's not raining. Children are expected to be dressed for these cold temperatures (jacket, snow pants, boots, gloves, and scarf).

What if my child doesn’t bring lunch from home?
Posted by:Lunch can be ordered daily from the Attendance/Health Office, or in the classroom during attendance.

Can I bring treats for my child's birthday?
Posted by:No food may be sent to school in honor of birthday celebrations.
The child can be honored in a variety of ways, other than with the sharing of edible treats. Recommended "treats" include: stickers, pencils, a donation for an LC book in your child's name. Please contact the classroom teacher with your intent prior to sending treats.

What is the best way to reach my child's teacher if I have questions?
Posted by:A phone call to school, e-mail or backpack note. Please always check with your teacher at the beginning of the school year as to which method of communication they prefer.

On early dismissal days, what time are the students dismissed?
Posted by:Students are dismissed at 11:35am on early dismissal days.

When is the last day of school and times of dismissal for the school year?
Posted by:Please click on the district calendar for the last day of school. The last day of school is a full day, so dismissal time is 2:30pm for all grades. -
How do I become a volunteer?
Posted by:There are many opportunities via Meadow Glens Home & School and during Orientation to sign up to volunteer. Volunteer opportunities through Home & School can be found on the Home and School web page.
