Calling all gardeners, farmers, explorers, and scientists! We need you to help fill our new garden beds, plant this year's veggie garden and feed our feathered friends. You are invited to help with all areas of gardening and growing this spring. The Botanical Warhawks will hold their first meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd at 3:00 in room 173, Ms. Borta’s room. Hope to see you there! See Mrs. Ruiz down in PE if you have any questions!
School gardens engage students by providing a dynamic environment to observe, discover, experiment, nurture and learn. They are living laboratories where interdisciplinary lessons are drawn from real life experiences, encouraging students to become active participants in the learning process. School gardens have been shown to increase self-esteem, help students develop a sense of ownership and responsibility, promote healthy lifestyle choices including increased fruit and vegetable consumption and provide a tranquil environment for many.
