Track and Field 2021

  • Track & Field will begin for all interested 7th & 8th graders on Monday, May 3rd.  In order to participate on the track team, the following forms need to be completed and turned-in to the main office by Friday, April 30th:

    1. Parent Consent for Participation Form
    2. All athletes must have a current sports physical (within 12 months of track and field start date) on file in the health office in order to participate
    3. Student Self-Certification*

*If self-certification forms have previously been turned in for another sport, they DO NOT have to be turned in again.

As with all sports this year, track will look a little different. Unfortunately, we were unable to acquire any track space at the high schools due to their busy spring schedules, but we are still going to be able to run a modified track season. Track practices will be held outside, Monday-Wednesday, where coaches will train and coach students through the different events of track. On Thursday & Fridays we will conduct in-house “Track meets” where our athletes will perform against each other in different track events.  We believe that while we will not run traditional track meets, we will be able to provide all athletes a solid base of what track is and prepare them for what we hope are “typical” track seasons moving forward.

There will be no fees required for track this year. All athletes should bring a water bottle each day as drinking fountains will be unavailable.  Masks are required to be worn when not competing.

Daily practices will be Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3 to 4:15 P.M. Unofficial competitions will take place on Thursdays and Fridays at WJHS.

Please reach out to the following coaching staff with any questions.  Looking forward to a great season!
