What does the school about bullies?
Students entering 6th grade are introduced to KJHS program entitled, "Not in Our School" that addresses the issues of bullying and bully prevention. Peer Mediation is another way to teach students problem solving skills against bullies. Every adult in the building, once alerted to the problem, will address it. We try to give the students tools to deal with it on their own and support them when they need it. "Bullies" are also dealt with individually through counselors, social workers or administratively. As an extension of the bullying program, 7th grade students are introduced to a KJHS program focusing on "anger management".
