Dear Mill Street Families,
Welcome to Mill Street Elementary School and the 2017-2018 school year! It is an honor to serve staff and students in this district where I grew up and have spent the past 33 years as a teacher and administrator. As a new member of this school community, I look forward to continuing to learn about Mill Street and partnering with families to so that our school is the best possible place for students to learn and grow.
My mission as a building leader is to put students’ academic and social/emotional needs at the forefront of all decisions and protocols and to ensure that students’ wellbeing and continuous achievement drive our work. As we embark on this exciting work, there are many positive changes taking place Mill Street. We welcome over 20 new certified staff, enjoy improvement to several instructional spaces, and the implementation of new curriculum in the area of social/emotional health and technology. We enjoy additional sections as each grade level to reduce overall class size and continue to embrace and celebrate our diversity and the special programs that make Mill Street a unique and progressive school community.
The one constant in the midst of all the changes in staff, focus and content is the importance of your partnership as we work together to foster student growth and development. Please take advantage of the many opportunities we offer to become involved in your child’s school experience through volunteerism, two way communication and work within our Home and School organization. Your support is key to our collective success! Here’s to a productive and exciting school year.
We are Mustangs. Galloping towards Growth- Stampeding into the Future!
