Veteran principal chosen to fill Ranch View vacancy
The Naperville 203 Board of Education approved the hiring of Erin Casey as Ranch View Elementary School’s next principal at its Tuesday, July 5, meeting.
Casey comes to Naperville 203 from Western Springs School District 101, where she currently serves as the principal of John Laidlaw Elementary School. She will join the Ranch View community with 15 years of experience as a principal and 20 years of experience as an elementary school administrator.
“We are excited to be adding a veteran principal at Ranch View with the skill set needed to lead the school to both immediate and long-term success,” Naperville 203 Superintendent Dan Bridges said. “I looked forward to seeing all that Erin and the outstanding staff at Ranch View can accomplish in the years to come.”
Prior to being named principal of John Laidlaw Elementary School in 2013, Casey served as the founding principal of Coretta Scott King Magnet School in University Park. In that role she was responsible for establishing an overall theme for the new school, as well as hiring an entire staff. She has also served as an Assistant Principal at Crete Elementary School and taught first and second grade in Oak Lawn.
Casey, who will officially start on July 11, earned her Master’s of Education, Administration from the University of Illinois Chicago, and her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University. She is currently working toward her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University.
