Kimberley Rutan Named Principal of Ellsworth Elementary School
At the April 6, 2021 meeting, the Naperville Community Unit School District 203 Board of Education approved the appointment of Ms. Kimberley Rutan as the Principal of Ellsworth Elementary School starting the 2021-2022 school year. Ms. Rutan will be replacing Mrs. Cheryl Degan who is retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
“Ms. Rutan brings an abundance of building leadership to Ellsworth Elementary School,” said Superintendent Dan Bridges. “During her tenure in Hinsdale, Ms. Rutan led a school improvement process to increase student growth and proficiency across all grade levels and ultimately earned Madison School a National Blue Ribbon Award.”
Ms. Rutan joins Naperville 203 after six years as principal at Madison School in Hinsdale Community Consolidated School District 181. Prior to that, she served as an assistant principal at Central Road Elementary School in Community Consolidated School District 15 and Lincoln Elementary School at Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202. She also taught 6th and 7th grade Language Arts.
“I am committed to fostering a school environment that is positive, supportive, innovative, and focused on student growth and learning,” said Ms. Rutan. “I am excited to get to know the students, families, and staff at Ellsworth Elementary School.”
Ms. Rutan has an undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in English Education/History. She received her Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis.
