Board Briefs January 4, 2021

Highlights from the January 4, 2021 Board of Education meeting include:

Due to current conditions and mitigations placed on our region by the Illinois Department of Public Health and in accordance with guidance provided by the Governor’s Office, the DuPage County Health Department and Naperville 203’s legal counsel, the January 4, 2021 Board of Education meeting was held virtually. Current Tier 2 resurgence mitigations require meetings to be limited to 10 individuals. Public comment is accepted electronically and all comments received are posted in BoardDocs under public comment and read during the meeting.

The Board heard presentations on the following:

  • Return to Learn Update - District administration updated the Board on the Return to Learn plan and the transition to the Hybrid Model on January 25, 2021.

The Board held discussion without action on the following:

  • School Improvement Plans including the components of School Improvement Plans and Action Plans including process and changes during the 2020-2021 academic year.
  • Tax Reimbursement Account Resolution and recommendations for allocation of the unplanned budget surplus.
  • The second reading on Policy 7:310 - Restrictions on Publications.

The Board held a discussion with action and approved contracting with Safeguard Surveillance, LLC to offer COVID-19 surveillance testing.  More information will be forthcoming on this service.
