Board Briefs June 25, 2020

Highlights from the June 25, 2020 Board of Education meeting include:

The members of the Board of Education did not meet in person, but via an online conference system and meeting was live streamed for the public.

The Board had discussion without action on the 2020-2021 Budget Workshop.  This discussion is part of a series of meetings to discuss the budget for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Board held discussion with action and approved the following items.

  • Restatement of 403(b) plan.
  • Revised 2020-2021 school year calendar.  On June 16, 2020, Governor Pritzker approved Senate Bill 1863 that designates November 3, 2020 as a state holiday. Further clarification from the Illinois State Board of Education and the DuPage Regional Office of Education states that this date may not be a student attendance day nor may it be a teacher institute day. Therefore, the District needed to adjust the 2020-2021 school calendar approved on November 19, 2019. 
  • The Board Resolution Reaffirming District 203 Commitment to Equity for all Students, Overcoming Systemic Racism and Ending Racial Injustice.
