Board Briefs December 16, 2019

Highlights from the December 16, 2019 Board of Education meeting include:

River Woods Elementary School Students led the Board of Education in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Board of Education honored Kingsley Elementary student Brandon Blitek as a Naperville 203 Mission Maker.  Brandon is a Community Contributor who raised $50 for NEF by clearing neighbors’ leaves.  He also participated in the Naperville 5K on behalf of NEF and the Kingsley team.

Sue Salness, Principal at Mill Street Elementary School, presented the School Improvement Plan to the Board.

Director of Buildings & Grounds, Pat Dolan, and Chief Financial Officer Michael Frances, presented the Five Year Capital Improvement Plan.  This included the FY2020-2021 Capital Improvement Plan for Board consideration.

The Board discussed with action and approved the following items:

  • 2019 Tax Levy Workshop and Discussion
  • Designate Individual(s) to Prepare the Budget
  • School Improvement Plans
  • Policy 7:270 Administering Medicines to Students
  • Policy 7:190 Student Behavior
