Dr. Anthony Murray Appointed as Principal of Kennedy Junior High School

The Naperville Community Unit School District 203 Board of Education appointed Dr. Anthony Murray as principal of Kennedy Junior High School at the July 15, 2019 Board of Education meeting.  


Dr. Murray has served as the principal of Lincoln Middle School in Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 where he organized and implemented a 1:1 learning environment for Lincoln’s student body of nearly 700 students. Previously, Dr. Murray was the Principal of Wood Dale Junior High School at District 7, the Assistant Principal at Indian Trail Junior High School at Addison School District 4 and an Eighth Grade core teacher at District 15. 


“I have been working in a middle school setting for many years, and I am a big believer in supporting the unique needs of adolescent students,” said Dr. Murray. “Kennedy is a wonderful school that has so much to offer through its individualized programs, and I can’t wait to be part of that environment.”


“Dr. Murray brings a wealth of experience to Naperville 203 through his various leadership roles in education,” said Superintendent Dan Bridges. “We are confident that his commitment to student and staff achievement will be an asset to the team at Kennedy Junior High School.”


Dr. Murray has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Loyola University Chicago, with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from National-Louis University. Dr. Murray will begin his new role at Kennedy Junior High School on July 16, 2019.  He will replace Principal Brian Valek.
