Superintendent Bridges Message on 2018 Illinois State Report Cards

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The Illinois State Board of Education has released the annual Illinois Report Card that shows how each school, district, and the state is performing on a wide range of educational goals.  We are very proud to say that all 21 Naperville Community Unit School District 203 elementary, junior high and high schools received the designation of either commendable or exemplary.

There are four designations that schools can be categorized in including exemplary, commendable, underperforming and lowest performing.  A school designation of exemplary means that a school has no underperforming student demographic groups at or below the “all students” group of the lowest 5 percent of Title 1 schools and whose performance is in the top 10 percent of schools statewide.  A commendable designation means that the school has no underperforming student demographic groups at or below the “all students” group of the lowest 5 percent of all Title 1 schools, but whose performance is not in the top 10 percent of schools statewide.  These designations are based on each of our school’s overall data, as well as the data for individual student groups.

Again, we are very proud of the work our students and staff put forth toward our mission of becoming self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers and community contributors. More information on the State Report Card can be found at www.illinoisreportcard.com.

Sincerely,

Dan Bridges
