Celebrating our future leaders! Over the past few months, 14 students volunteered their days off school to learn ways to become better leaders.
On February 27, the students, their families, community partners and District representatives celebrated their accomplishments in the inaugural Student Leadership Institute with a graduation ceremony.
Led by RPC Leadership Associates, Inc. owner Rick Lochner, the Student Leadership Institute showed the students how to set and accomplish goals, prepare for their future academic and professional careers, and be a leader amongst their peers.
The five- course class was in partnership with the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Edgewood Clinical Services, Naperville Sunrise Rotary, The Rotary Club of Naperville, The Beaird Group, Fox Valley Institute, Independence Capital Financial Partners, and Nicor Gas.
Graduates had an overwhelmingly positive response to their experience saying:
“I will be more resilient after a failure or mistake. Being a leader isn’t about being this all perfect being. I’ve learned that it is about picking yourself up and making the best decisions that you can for yourself and others.”
“I will be actively involved in my community as a positive influence for others.”
