Naperville 203 Welcomes Katie M. Matthews as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education

We are pleased to announce that Katie M. Matthews, M.A., has been appointed as the Assistant
Superintendent of Elementary Education for Naperville 203 as of July 1, 2024. With 21 years of
experience in elementary education, Katie brings expertise in fostering excellence and
collaborative leadership with staff, families, and students.


Katie's career is marked by a series of impactful leadership roles. Most recently, she served as the
principal of Grove Avenue in Barrington School District 220 from 2016 to 2024. Prior to her tenure
at Grove, Katie was the Principal at Willow Creek Elementary School in Woodridge School District
68. Her extensive experience also includes serving as the Assistant Principal at Ivy Hill Elementary
School, Dryden Elementary School, and Westgate Elementary School in Arlington Heights School
District 25. Katie began her career as a fifth-grade teacher in St. Charles School District 303.


Her dedication to educational leadership is further demonstrated by her academic achievements.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University and a master's
degree in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate
in Educational Leadership through National Louis University.


Katie's vast experience and commitment to educational excellence make her an invaluable addition
to the 203 team. As the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, she will play a critical
role in guiding our elementary schools toward continued success and ensuring that every student
receives the highest-quality education.
