New principals hired for Kingsley, Steeple Run
The Naperville 203 Board of Education approved the hiring of two internal educators as the next principals for Kingsley Elementary School and Steeple Run Elementary School at its Monday, May 15, meeting.
Traci Furbee was approved as the next principal at Kingsley, while Dawn Malatia was hired as Steeple Run’s next principal. Both currently serve in similar positions as supervisors of special education and student services coordinators – roles that closely mirror the role of an assistant principal.
“I am excited to welcome these two veteran leaders onto our principal team, and truly believe the Kingsley and Steeple Run communities are in great hands with Traci and Dawn,” Naperville 203 Superintendent Dan Bridges said “I am eager to watch our students and staff members flourish under their leadership.”
Malatia, who is currently based at Naper Elementary, arrived in Naperville 203 in 2017. She holds master’s degrees in educational leadership, educational administration and special education, as well as a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Furbee has been a member of the Naperville 203 family since 2005. She has earned a master's degree in Educational Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
Furbee and Malatia will both officially begin their principal tenures on July 1, 2023.
