Friday, September 20th

Good morning, Lancers!

The LJHS Cheer Clinic starts next week on Tuesday - don't forget to sign-up! The clinic takes place over 3 days, but you can come to as many of the sessions as you'd like to! Today's yellkey to get to the sign-up form is yellkey.com/WHATEVER. Have questions? Mrs. Hutchison and Ms. Grady will be in room 9 today after school to chat with you! They will also be handing out informational packets and calendars, so please stop by if you are interested in learning more!

Magazine Drive

Magazine Prize day will be during your lunch periods today! Keep sell, sell, selling to earn more rewards for LJHS. 8th graders that 20% discount could mean the difference of a ticket for the boat trip being over $100 or under!

Electric bikes/scooters

Please note, in accordance with Naperville city ordinances that many E-bikes are allowed only in specific locations when it comes to roadways and sidewalks. Any motorized vehicle that is gas powered is prohibited on school property and may be subject to conversation involving Officer Merrihew.

If you’ve been wondering where your water bottle went, why you’ve been starving without your lunch box, or if you’re colder than usual because your sweatshirt vanished, it’s probably in the Lost & Found. So, head on down and reunite with your long-lost items.

Attention all Lancers! Cheerleading is BACK!

Mrs. Hutchison and Ms. Grady are going to be holding a FREE cheer clinic next week for anyone who is interested in being on the LJHS Cheer Squad, and all grade levels are welcome to attend! We know that there are a lot of questions about the cheer program, so we’ve put together informational packets for anyone who would like more details. Stop by room 9 after school today to get your packet! Interested in attending the Cheer Clinic? Go to yellkey.com/RISK and fill out the Google form, or ask your teacher for the link! You must fill out the form ahead of time in order to participate! See you there!

Lancers the magazine drive is in full swing

Currently, we are in 5th place out of 5 junior highs. And I don't know about you but I do not want us to be the WHITE SOX of D203. Reminder that our first prize day will be THIS FRIDAY 9/20 for every 9 credits you earned you choose an AIR head with the chance of winning CASH if you pick the specially marked candy. 8th graders don't forget you get a 20% discount on your boat trip ticket for everything you sell. Let's go lancers!

Lancer Wrestling

Starts on Tuesday, October 15th. Practice is 3:00 - 4:45 in the tile gym. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome. Wrestling is a no-cut sport; everyone who is on the team will wrestle in a weight class according to their weight. Wrestling is open to all 7th and 8th grade students. Sixth graders can participate as an intramural. Pick up a flyer from Coach Hunt or visit the SNAP! Page under Lancer Sports.

Fire Drill

Lancers will have another Fire Drill today during 3rd period - this will be our last practice before an official drill is done with the Naperville Fire Dept. Remember to make sure that you are exiting the building and walking to your first period line silently - this ensures that we can take attendance quickly.

Students don't forget our Magazine Drive Fall Fundraiser is now officially begun!

The next prize day will be Friday, September 20th during lunch periods. Remember that there is a deadline of tonight by midnight to qualify for the Fast Start Bonus - make sure you have entered at least 12 emails into your page and start earning your credits.

Attention all Lancers!

Cheerleading is BACK! Mrs. Hutchison and Ms. Grady are going to be holding a FREE cheer clinic for anyone who is interested in being on the LJHS Cheer Squad - all grade levels are welcome to attend! At the clinic, you will learn cheers, jumps, dances, and more! We will also have members of the NCHS JV Cheer Squad joining us during the clinic! They’ll be able to answer all of your questions about what cheer is like at the high school level, and help you master your cheer skills! If you are in 7th or 8th grade, and are planning to try out for this year’s cheer squad, we highly recommend that you attend the clinic. Interested? Today is Mexican Independence Day, which is celebrated to recognize Mexico's independence from Spain. This fiesta-friendly holiday celebrates Mexico’s declaration of independence from Spain in 1810, and it’s filled with national pride, colorful parades, mariachi concerts, and food, food, food.
