Naperville 203 Hosts Student Focused Medical Conference

On November 16, the District hosted our first Naperville 203 Medical Conference. This conference provided 150 high school students from Naperville Central and Naperville North the opportunity to expand their knowledge of various health care professions and trends within the medical field.

The goal of this event was to provide learning for students about the healthcare industry, including growth and employment opportunities. Students heard from two keynote speakers and attended breakout sessions throughout the day that allowed for students to hear from healthcare/medical professionals in very specific areas within the healthcare field. The individual sessions provided learning about day-to-day tasks, tools of the trade, technology, education, trends, positives and challenges of working in the area, legal considerations, and ethics.

Naperville 203 College and Career Counselors reached out to colleges and universities to set up booths for students to learn more about their health care programs of study. Local business also set up booths to share information about their products and services that they offer.
