Board Briefs September 17, 2018

Highlights from the September 17, 2018 Board of Education meeting include:

 

  • Students from Steeple Run Elementary School led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Superintendent Dan Bridges recognized NNHS student Nicole Tong. She has been named one of 20 students selected to serve on the Illinois State Board of Education Student Advisory Council.
  • 51 students from NNHS and NCHS were honored for becoming Semi-Finalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
  • Superintendent Dan Bridges recognized Naperville North High School seniors, Kathleen Nie and Madison Ding as Mission Maker. These students created a kids camp for art named Artra. This art donation idea has grown into programming at the Alive Center, as well as children’s hospitals LaRabidia and Shriner’s and the Peace Corner Youth Center in Chicago.
  • The Board of Education approved:
    • The fiscal year 2019 budget as presented and authorizes administration to execute all necessary documents and file with all required governmental agencies
    • The four-year contract with the Naperville Unit Maintenance Association
    • Board Agreements
