    Maplebrook Families:

It has been a great kickoff to Watch D.O.G.S. this week. We are thrilled to have such a great number that signed up to be a male role model at our school. We have already seen that our male role models’ presence had had a positive effects on children.

Thank you so much for the collaboration and support.

  • Students Benefit from Extracurricular Activities

Posted by Karen Buell on 9/13/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families:

We are pleased to see that our before and after school activities have started with a great amount of interest.  We have a number of students already involved in the Maplebrook Milers Club and Student Council. Coming soon we will have opportunities for our students to join Chorus, Art, Inside Out Club and Intramurals. These opportunities allow our students to develop social skills, improve their academic performance, and establish strong relationships with caring adults.

Our 5th graders are getting excited about their first 5th grade event, participating in Outdoor Education. This activity extends their learning to the outdoors which helps support their development of stronger environmental knowledge and civic behaviors. Through the generosity of Home & School, each student will receive their t-shirt for free! This is a great help in keeping costs down for students and families to participate in this event.

Thank you so much for the collaboration and support.

  • Getting to Know our Wildcats

Posted by Karen Buell on 9/6/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families:

These past two weeks I have had the pleasure to read in many of our classrooms. This has given me an opportunity to get to know the students as well as convey a message that we all have a responsibility to be kind to one another. Students were able to tell me ways that they have been kind at school or at home. We have outstanding Wildcats that are thoughtful of others and show kindness everyday.

I would like to extend our sincere thanks to our parent volunteers that helped us during our picture day.

Thank you so much for the collaboration and support.

  • First Full Week Completed!

Posted by Karen Buell on 8/23/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families:

Well, we’ve launched. I hope your children had a good first full week and are ready for a second. By nearly all accounts it was a very good first full week, teachers were teaching and the students were learning.

We consider the success of our launch to be the result of a combined effort of our teachers and staff, parents and supporters, and, not least of all, students, who seem to be showing excellent PROWL behavior.

  • We're Back to School!

Posted by Karen Buell on 8/16/2019 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families:

What a great first two days of school we’ve had!  Our new Wildcats have transitioned very well into their classrooms.  It was wonderful to see all of the smiling faces and to watch them engage in meaningful learning activities, while fostering new friendships and developing strong relationships with their teachers and other staff. I feel fortunate to have had such a wonderful and supportive welcome. Thank you!

If you have an opportunity, please look for our “One Goal” rocks painted by our staff near door 2. Each staff member selected one word for their work with students for the 2019-2020 school year. They look fantastic.

I want to take the time to thank our Home & School Board and the H&S/SFCP volunteers that helped with Popsicles with the Principal, school supplies, updating our bulletin board in the vestibule, New Family Orientation, a welcome back breakfast for staff, the Teddy Bear Picnic, birthday books, the marquee, the landscaping, coordinating greeters, and those that served as greeters this first week.  Thank you so much for the hours of service that you give to Maplebrook as volunteers.
