We heard you, we are listening, and we want to work together with all stakeholders to build our future. The future of learning in Naperville 203 isn’t built for you; it’s built with you. Over the next year, we are engaging students, staff, families, and community members to co-create Forward Together 2032, our shared vision for the decade ahead.

Purpose & Overview

Over a 6–8 month human-centered design process, Naperville 203 is listening and learning alongside our community. Our goal is to elevate authentic stakeholder voices, elevate trust, and establish a community-defined framework.

  • Rebuild Trust & Connection: Fostering authentic relationships and open communication across all stakeholder groups.
  • Elevate Authentic Voice: Prioritizing genuine community input rather than gathering feedback on predetermined solutions.
  • Define Core Values: Identifying the conditions and learning experiences our community values most.
  • Action-Oriented Design: Directing all input straight into the Forward Together 2032 Framework.

CORE Chats

What to Expect

CORE Chats are intimate, facilitated, 30–45 minute small-group conversations hosted across district school sites. Designed to prioritize active listening, these sessions ensure every participant’s voice is heard through equitable sharing rules (such as a 2–3 minute talking guideline).

Who Participates?

Each building will hold three separate CORE chats, one for students, one for staff, and one for our families. 

  • Students: Engagement through Principal Advisory Councils, focus groups, and advisory sessions.
  • Staff: Dedicated sessions held during staff meetings, institute days, or designated collaborative times.
  • Community & Families: Evening and out-of-school-day sessions hosted at local schools in partnership with Home & School (H&S) groups.

Each school’s specific CORE Chat schedule will be published via school newsletters.

Process Timeline

Phase 1: Foundations (Aug-Sept) Public Launch & Survey Launching the initiative, distributing the initial CORE Vision survey, and establishing outreach channels.
Phase 2: Deep Listening (Oct-Nov) CORE Chats & Listening Hosting small-group CORE Chats for staff and families alongside student voice sessions.
Phase 3: Synthesis (Dec-Jan) Analysis & Reflection Analyzing input, publishing the "What We Heard" report, and holding community reflection sessions.  
Phase 4: Co-Design (Feb-Apr) Framework Development Hosting Community Design Workshops to translate key themes into core commitments and priorities.
Phase 5: Refinement (May-June) Public Review Opening a public validation window to review, refine, and gather feedback on the draft framework.
Phase 6: Adoption (July-Aug) Finalization & Launch Presenting to the Board of Education and hosting a community celebration to launch the 2032 vision.
