What does the Network Operations Group do?
The Network Operations Group is responsible for the security, reliability, scalability and redundancy of the District’s computer network. The group configures, supports, maintains, repairs and reports all aspects of the District’s network. Some of the key applications and equipment supported by the Network Operations Group include: switches and routers, wireless access points and controllers, virus and spam filters, virtual and physical servers, storage area networks (SANs) and core applications including Active Directory, Exchange, Office Communication Server (OCS), and the library automation system (Alexandria).
Who are the members of the Network Operations Group?
Susan Kamba – Manager of Network Operations
Sue manages the day-to-day activities of the Network Operations Group. Sue serves as a network administrator for Active Directory, email, digital signage, and other Microsoft applications. She is also involved in budget planning and project management.
Al May – Network Engineer
Al supports the active infrastructure in the District including all switches, routers, access points, controllers, and firewalls. He also supports the network access control system, IDFs and MDFs (data centers and wiring closets).
Jeri Stodola – Network Engineer
Jeri provides support for District servers and is a network administrator for Microsoft applications. She provides support for the SAN, Active Directory, email, the District’s server environment and SCCM (software delivery).
Bob Wawrzon – Network Engineer
Bob supports the active infrastructure in the District including all switches, routers, access points, controllers, and firewalls. He also supports the network access control system, IDFs and MDFs (data centers and wiring closets).
