Patrick Nolten Appointed Asst. Superintendent for Assessment and Accountability
Naperville Community Unit School District 203 today announced the appointment of Patrick Nolten, Ph.D. by the Board of Education as the assistant superintendent for assessment and accountability. Nolten has extensive experience in educational and school psychology, and research and assessment.
Nolten spent several years teaching at institutions of higher education. He was an assistant professor in the School Psychology program at Northern Illinois University and in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Medical Center. Nolten also spent years as a psychologist and staff development coach and was a clinical child psychologist.
Currently, Nolten serves as Executive Director for Research and Assessment at Indian Prairie School District 204 in Aurora, IL.
“Patrick Nolten’s robust experience in leading assessment and research, as well as his knowledge of linking curriculum to assessments, will contribute greatly to our achievement gap closing measures,” said Superintendent Dan Bridges. “We are pleased that he is here at this pivotal time for Naperville 203.”
Nolten has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Master of Science in Educational/School Psychology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational/School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also has a Master of Science in Educational Administration and Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University. Nolten will begin his position at District office on July 1, 2017. He replaces Assistant Superintendent for Assessment and Analytics, Tim Wierenga who is retiring at the end of the school year.
