MJHS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF March 20, 2017

  

Friday March 24, 2017 - 

STEAM -  Madison is Picking up STEAM! Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, that is! Bring your families to Madison on April 6 from 7:00-8:30 and explore all of the different interactive stations! Hear from Fermilab experts, investigate the Children's Museum’s new digital microscopes, make your own Play-Doh, see Naperville North’s robot in action, and so much more! See you on April 6th!

Literary Magazine - Spring Break is just around the corner, and Madison's Literary Magazine wants to hear all about it! Going to the beach? Write a poem about it as you relax in the sun and surf! Heading to the mountains? Grab your sketchbook and create a drawing of your surroundings? Visiting your funny aunt Harriet in Nevada? Write a story about your adventure! Then, submit all of these great poems, short stories, and pieces of artwork to this year's Lit Mag. Simply find your Canvas page called "Literary Magazine" and follow the instructions. Don't delay, submit today! See your LA teacher or Mrs. Pop in room 168 with any questions. 

Intramural Volleyball - Bump, Set, Spike! Get ready for Intramural volleyball that will start Monday after Spring Break! Volleyball will run on Monday and Thursday every week from 3-4pm.  All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are welcome to participate! See Ms. Charvat with any questions.

Indoor Soccer – It is that time of year again. Indoor soccer for the 7th and 8th graders begins the week of April 11th. This year’s tournament will be much like those in the past; six players on the field at a time and each match will be thirty minutes in length. At the end, we will have a tournament to decide this year’s champion. Team sign ups need to be in by April 6th.

Madison Music Department - The entire school is invited to come see the Madison Music Department perform at The Patio on Thursday from 5:45 to 8:30 pm.  Featured performing groups include Madison’s Own String Fusion, Men’s Chorale, Women’s Chorale, Jazz Lab Band, and Jazz Ensemble.  If you use our special coupon, then 15% of your receipts will come back to Madison’s Music Department.  This is a great fundraiser for a great cause!  We hope to see you there!

Washington D.C Trip - Final reminder for 8th grade students attending the Washington D.C. trip. All room forms must be turned in by Thursday. Only one form needs to be turned in per room. See Miss Bolvin or Miss Radasevich as soon as possible with any questions.

Peer Helpers -  are needed for Wednesday AFTER SCHOOL to help make some posters with some of our very special students!!

Monday March 20, 2017   

 NCHS Shirts -  Do you want to look fly? do you want to be fly? well at Naperville Central everyone flies together by showing off school spirit. Believe it or not, high school is just around the corner. In a couple of months or maybe even just a year you will transition from a Warhawk to a Redhawk. Tomorrow (3/21) during lunch high school students will be selling Naperville Central long-sleeve shirts. The shirts come in your choice of black and red and can be purchased for $15 each. Can't decide which color? You can buy 2 for $25! Bring cash or a check payable to Red Threads.

Newspaper Club -  Attention all Warhawk World Staff! We will have a newspaper club meeting TODAY after school in room 176. Please let Mrs. McGroarty or one of the editors know if you cannot attend.

Student Council - On Tuesday, March 21st, student council wants to help get people talking about World Down Syndrome Day. The organization Lots of Socks, asks if we can all support WDSD by wearing “lots of socks.” But not just any socks…wear bright colored socks, long socks, patterned socks, one sock…even 3 socks for 3 chromosomes! The choice is yours Warhawks, but we ask you to join us wearing something which people will ask you about so you can show your support for World Down Syndrome Day.
