Whitelisting: what to do if you're not receiving Talk203 email
District 203 has several methods of communication available to stakeholders: the Infinite Campus Portal, a web-based system enabling parents (and students) to access student-specific information; and Talk203, a phone callout/e-mail/text message system powered by Blackboard Connect.
Infinite Campus Portal
What is the Campus Portal?
The Campus Portal is an online tool for parents/guardians to access information about their student(s) that replaces the previous i-Parent student information system. The Campus Portal allows access to additional information and features that were not available with i-Parent.
Each student also has their own Portal account. Login information and instructions are given to students at school.
Campus Portal upgrade in late December 2011
An upgrade to the Infinite Campus Portal took place in late December 2011.
The following enhancements became available:
- The Switch Student option, used to choose another student in the household, is now called Select Student.
- Messages, including District Notices, School Notices and Portal Inbox, now display how many new items have been added since the last time the user logged into the Portal.
- The Student Registration option, turned on to allow students to request courses for the upcoming school year, is now called Course Registration.
- The Campus Portal will available through a mobile app, called Mobile Portal. Parents and students can access grades, attendance and schedule information using an iOS (iPhone/iPad/iTouch) device.
The following change occurred:
- An assignment that has been marked as turned in by the teacher will no longer display in the Campus Portal To Do List.
The following issue was addressed:
- When a user has multiple students in the same school, the school website will now only display one time.
What information can parents/guardians see?
Information available through the Infinite Campus Portal includes attendance, schedules, grades, assignment to-do list, family calendar, transportation, health information, behavior, teacher newsletter and District/school notices. Additional features, available in the near future, will include a graduation planner and the ability to edit parent/guardian contact details. Viewing of student fees through the Campus Portal is currently in the planning stages.
The chart below shows information/features accessible at each level.

How do I set up my account on the Campus Portal?
One Campus Portal account will access all student information within your household. To initially create your account username and password you will need a one-time Portal access key. Instructions on creating your account are included in the accompanying letter. Portal access keys are mailed to the home after a student is enrolled.
After you use this Portal access key to set up your initial Campus Portal account you will not need it again while your student is continuously enrolled in District 203.
What if I don't have my access key?
Contact your student's school if you need an access key and they will provide you with further information. School contact information is available on the Links to Schools page.
Can I update personal information via the Campus Portal?
Email address, phone numbers and emergency contact(s) may be added or revised through your parent account on the Portal. Revisions to address can only be made by contacting the Centralized Enrollment Office at 630-420-6300 . See the Links to Schools page for school phone numbers.
With the exception of email address revisions, changes made via the Campus Portal are final after review by Centralized Enrollment staff. You will receive a confirmation message in your Portal Inbox after they have been completed. Email address changes are final immediately; confirmation messages are not sent.
See below for a help document that provides specific instructions on updating your personal information through the Portal.
Is there a mobile app for Campus Portal?
The Infinite Campus upgrade in late December 2011 allowed use of a free Infinite Campus mobile Portal app for iOS. An Android version of the app is not currently available but Infinite Campus has indicated they are working on one for a future release. The mobile app provides some of the same functionality available on the current Portal site as well as additional features, such as a grade summary which will provide quicker access to student grades. Infinite Campus's Campus Mobile Portal flyer provides an overview of the app.
The video below, created by Infinite Campus, demonstrates the mobile Campus Portal. It is not specific to District 203. (Mac users may need additional free software to view videos on this site.)
Where do I get the mobile Campus Portal app?
In the Infinite Campus iTunes App Store. There is also a link to obtain the mobile app shown on the regular online Campus Portal screen.

Talk203: Phone, Email and Text/SMS Information System
Talk203 is an email and telephone notification system that helps the District and the schools better communicate with families. These communications include emergency messages, special events, school news updates and honors and awards earned by our students. This is a powerful communications tool that is interconnected with the student information database, Infinite Campus. Because of this connection, Talk203 automatically includes all our families.
Providing parent contact information
At the start of the school year, parents are asked to provide email addresses on their student’s registration form. It is important that your information reflects a regularly accessed email address. If you provide us with a cell phone number, emergency TEXT/SMS messages can be sent to you directly. Please remember that emergency notifications are also sent via email and to home and cell phone numbers. TEXT/SMS messages are only used for emergency purposes.
Talk203 can only process ONE Text/SMS number per family at this time. If you have not set up an SMS contact number already, the cell phone number posted under the first parent/guardian listed will be the default TEXT/SMS contact. Once you have received your access code information to Infinite Campus, you will be able to change or delete the TEXT/SMS number under your personal information. See "Can I update personal information via the Campus Portal?" above.
You may email or call 630-420-6825 (7:30 AM-3:30 PM, M-F) for assistance.
How do I change my contact information?
See "Can I update personal information via the Campus Portal?" above for details on changing email addresses and phone numbers via your parent account on the Campus Portal. The document Updating Your Personal Information (PDF) provides screen shots and step-by-step instructions on how to make revisions.
Because Infinite Campus data is the source of phone numbers and email addresses used by our Talk203 system, changes made through the Campus Portal are reflected in Talk203 as well.
You may also call your school to make changes in your contact information. School phone numbers are available on the Links to Schools page.
