Business Partnerships
Businesses and civic organizations form partnerships with schools so that both parties can share their resources and expertise while helping to develop competent, confident young workers and community leaders of the future.
School Family Community Partnership (SFCP)
The mission of the parent involvement initiative is to enhance student learning and development by promoting, strengthening and celebrating the partnerships among District 203 staff, parents and the community through the use of the Joyce Epstein Framework of Six Types of Involvement.
Naperville Education Foundation
The Naperville Education Foundation was incorporated in 1992 as a vehicle for supporting projects that enhance student and professional staff growth and development in the District.
HURRAH (Happy, Upbeat Retirees [& other] Residents Actively Helping)
HURRAH is a program that actively involves the senior population as volunteers in our schools to serve as tutors, mentors, readers and partners in our education process.

The American Legion
The primary purpose of the American Legion is to help disabled veterans, children, and youth through education.
American Legion Speech Contest
Two Kennedy Junior High students took top honors in the Naperville American Legion Post #42 speech contest. Kelsey Brown, an eighth grader, earned first place honors, while seventh grader Madeline Siambekos placed third. Kelsey has also qualified for the DuPage County American Legion oratorical contest. Matthew Schuhriemen of Naperville, a home-schooled sophomore, won the second place honor at the county-level high school contest.
Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873
Naperville's Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 is involved in a variety of programs that enrich the community, serve veterans and promote patriotism and an understanding of history in schools.
Educator Award
The "Kendall Honors Educator of the Year Award" is presented to educators at the elementary, junior high and high school levels who, by their actions and beliefs, best exemplify the values of citizenship, honor, patriotism and volunteerism to their students, their peers, their community and their country. Educators may be nominated by parents, students or peers in 100 words or less, using this form.
Congratulations to the Educator of the Year Award winners for 2008 from District 203: Jeanie Nauman, Beebe Elementary School; Dave Hollander, Kennedy Junior High School and Brett Thompson, Naperville Central High School.
Voice of Democracy Scholarship
Students in grades 9-12 may apply for the VFW's Voice of Democracy scholarship program, an annual audio-essay contest.
The following winners have been announced for the 2007 Voice of Democracy Contest: first place and a $1,000 prize went to Claire Simpson of Neuqua Valley High School; second place and a $500 prize was awarded to Nicholas Weithman of Naperville Central High School; and third place honors, along with a $250 prize, were given to Marlena Maria May of Naperville North High School. The first place winner will continue on to the VFW’s District 19 competition.
Patriot's Pen Contest
Students in grades 6-8 may enter the VFW's Patriot's Pen youth essay writing contest to compete nationally for a scholarship.
The following winners have been announced for this year's Patriot's Pen youth essay writing contest: Hanting Tina Xu, first place; Olivia Zhu, second place; Sanat Divekar, third place; and Mingyang Jennifer Li, fourth place. All of the winners attend Kennedy Junior High School.
