For information and updates related to the building plan and process after the successful passage of the February 5, 2008 referendum, please see Building the Future.
The information below chronicles the D203 Decision for the Future referendum information process that took place from November, 2007 through February 5, 2008.
Following nearly four years of study by three different citizens groups, an architectural review of each of District 203’s 21 schools, and a year conferring with Naperville intergovernmental agencies - as well as months spent gathering input through the Touch the Future community engagement process - the Board of Education has voted 7-0 to place a referendum question on the February 5, 2008, ballot, accepting the recommendations on the chart below as solutions to District 203’s most pressing facilities needs.
The complete project cost, including $3 million in program contingencies, will total $114.9 million, requiring a $43 million bond referendum.
Please see the District 203 Plan for Upgrading School Facilities 2007-2012 (PDF, 6.9 MB) for details about these upgrades.
