Wow! We had quite a show of support for today’s after school lunch packing event.  It was nice to see so many Wildcats serving as community contributors to help those in need.  Thank you to our SFCP for coordinating the event, and thank you to all that volunteered to help make it a success.  Speaking of volunteers… please be sure to look at the available volunteer opportunities for upcoming events and for next year in the Home & School section below.  We love and appreciate our volunteers!

  • Spring Break

Posted by Karen Buell at 3/24/2017 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families:

It’s hard to believe that Spring Break is already here, and we will be entering our last two months of school.  During their week away from Maplebrook, please be sure to encourage your student to find a comfy spot to read because I just may ask him/her what book he/she enjoyed during break.  Also, healthy bodies lead to healthy minds, so be sure to encourage they remain active in outdoor play too!  While there will be a WAG next Friday, it will very brief.

    Enjoy the week!

  • Short Weeks Ahead!

    Maplebrook Families:

We had a great first week back! Many students expressed to me their excitement to see their teachers, friends and classmates and as I peeked in their classrooms, they demonstrated their eagerness to learn! Looking ahead the next few months, please know that we do have several shortened weeks coming up between now and Spring Break (our first being next week). You may want to take a look at our website calendar or review in the “Upcoming Dates” at the bottom of our weekly email message to ensure you have planned accordingly for childcare.

  • Winter Break

Posted by Karen Buell at 12/22/2016 4:00:00 PM

    Maplebrook Families:

Thank you to all that were able to give to our Pennies for Pasta and our Holiday Giving Program. Your thoughtfulness and support of others during this season of giving is very much appreciated.  Today, our students celebrated together during our annual student sing-a-long event.  It does not get much better than hearing 450+ students sing Frosty the Snowman together!  After the festivities in the gym, our students travelled back to their classrooms for their winter parties.  I’m sure your student(s) brought home precious keepsakes and wonderful memories. Thank you to all of our parents that served as classroom volunteers to make the parties a success!  I wish you a wonderful winter break with family and friends.  Treasure this time with the children over the next two weeks and know that we’re excited to welcome them back to Maplebrook in January.  There will not be a Wiley WAG next week, but look for a brief one in your inbox on Friday, January 6.

Looking forward to seeing you in 2017!

  • Wonderful Winter Concert

Posted by Karen Zahakaylo at 12/16/2016 4:00:00 PM

We had a great week of school!  Our students gathered in the gym on Wednesday morning to hear a wonderful Winter Concert.  Our 4th and 5th graders from chorus, band, and orchestra performed superbly.  Each and every one of them should be proud of their individual efforts in preparing for this concert.  All of the students came together and collectively sounded beautiful. Thanks to Mrs. Tomei, Mr. Carroll, and Ms. Reynolds for conducting such a great show.  Looking ahead to next week, it will be fun to gather together again as a school when all of our students gather in the gym for our student sing-a-long that occurs before the winter parties.  This past week brought very frigid temperatures, so please review our previously communicated cold weather notes.  Also, winter brings increased traffic, so please read through the drop off, pick up, and safety information.

Strategic Blueprint

  • District 203’s FOCUS 2020 Strategic Blueprint

Posted by Superintendent Dan Bridges at 6/27/2014
FOCUS 2020 is the strategic plan for comprehensive improvement between 2014 and 2020, designed in response to community feedback, best practice, and a vision for the future. Ultimately, this blueprint will advance the fulfillment of the district’s mission.

FOCUS 2020’s foundation is the Future Focus Community Engagement process that occurred over the course of a year where hundreds of members from across the community provided feedback to the district leadership regarding areas such as facilities, finances, measuring student success, and programs of study. Learn more about Future Focus by clicking on the specific “Quick Link” to the left of this text.

The Blueprint includes four “Strategic Focus” areas, namely to:
    1. Design and implement effective practices that promote learning experiences for all.
    2. Foster a high-performance culture focused on student learning.
    3. Steward resources effectively to promote student learning.
    4. Effective communication and community relations.
Each Strategic Focus then establishes “Commitments.” These commitments are what the district leadership pledges to accomplish within a distinct timeframe. Each commitment then includes a detailed “Action Plan” which will be accessible by the public upon final draft.

District administrators provided an update on Blueprint Commitments to the Board of Education at the July 27, 2015 meeting.  To watch that presentation, please click here
